Lately, I’ve constantly been seeing many acquaintances and relatives constantly complaining that they haven’t watched (and can’t watch) any good movie at the cinema. Perhaps, you have heard this, too. This affirmation can be very annoying, even if it is just partially justified, considering the great expectations and high standards we have for movies, especially after having watched several masterpieces, such as ‘The Godfather’, ‘Star Wars’, ‘The Shining’, ‘Top Gun’, and many others that we can never forget. Besides, these are just some of the classics. However, if you share the same feelings for newly released movies and sometimes question their quality, you might think about whether they are worth your time and energy or not. In that case, this article is for you, because it contains many highly-regarded films that can be enjoyed by everybody ranging from thriller lovers to RomCom fans.
Since Halloween is right around the corner, a multitude of Halloween-themed classics are available this month (and not only) – you can find films of every genre out there, so you can choose from your favourite genres without being forced to watch something you know you won’t clearly like. The first Halloween movie worth mentioning is ‘Halloween Ends’, the last from the well-known ‘Halloween’ series that started in 1978. Not only avid fans but people of all types searching for a blood-curdling and spooky movie can watch this legendary conflict between Michael Myers and Laurie Strode, which reaches a deadly climax. Still, if you want to see other movies from the horror/thriller genre, you can’t miss out on ‘Smile’, ‘The Invitation’, ‘Men’, and ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ (which is starring Harry Styles, in case you want to see the splendid acting skills of the famous and beloved singer).
Nevertheless, if you are curious about watching some Romanian productions, be sure to check out ‘Mirciulică’, a hilarious comedy starring ‘Mircea Popa’, also known as ‘Mircea Bravo’. The film is about a 30-year-old man from Gherla that fails a magistracy exam in Bucharest and is therefore forced to come home and live with his parents. However, things become tremendously interesting when he ends up working for his boss's wife.
Also, another Romanian comedy that cannot be left out: ‘Teambuilding’ (it has a good rating and is highly regarded – 8.1 on the IMDb ranking).
Some of you may be interested in watching something romantic or dramatic. Therefore, our team will recommend you ‘Mrs Harris goes to Paris’ (a delightful RomCom movie), ’Three Thousand Years of Longing’, and ‘Ticket to Paradise’ (presented by the director of Mamma Mia and starring two remarkable actors: Julia Roberts and George Clooney, whom you will surely enjoy).
To sum up, I can guarantee you that you can stop doubting what everyone says about having nothing captivating to watch. Forget about all the times you were avoiding the cinema because ‘none of the movies are worth it’. Watching a marvellous movie can change your entire mood, ideals or even your perspective regarding life, hence the benefits.
