Usually, when you buy a plane ticket, you embark into the unknown. All that awaits you, once you have landed is uncertainty, but the joy of discovering it is so worth it that tens of thousands of planes fly daily, carrying people across the planet. Last month I was one of them, embarking on a flight that would take me on a marvellous journey to a faraway continent, living for three weeks the American Dream.
Day 1: Ready for Adventure
My journey began on the 11nth of August when I took a 12 hour flight to one of the sunniest beaches in the world. You’ve probably guessed by now that I am speaking about Miami Beach, where I spent three weeks on an international campus learning English while enjoying a perfect tropical environment and making loads of friends worldwide.
Day 2: Everything New
The 12th of August was a day with a very busy schedule. The first part of the day included exploring the campus facilities and attending an orientation session for all newly arrived students. During the session, they explained the basic rules of the campus and the school and introduced us to our academic schedule. Our agenda included a city tour for the second part of the day. Interesting as it was, the weather, however, represented a true challenge for me as the heat mixed with humidity was nearly impossible to bear. I explored the streets of Miami for the next few hours, admiring the iconic art-deco buildings. Among the highlights of the day were my visits to the Wynwood Arts District with its graffiti walls and Little Havana. In Little Havana, I had the opportunity to taste the true Cuban espresso while immersing myself in the vibrant Latino rhythms that filled the neighborhood, which is known for its strict preservation of traditions and customs. The day ended with a well-deserved beach session, reflecting upon everything I saw while enjoying the calming atmosphere created by the Ocean.
Day 3: School
For the next few days, school represented a significant part of my daily schedule, my English language classes as well as my special interest classes which I have chosen myself, being very interesting. However, after classes the true exploration began, the 13th of August being a day dedicated to famous places such as Ocean Drive and Lincoln Street. The day ended with a delicious dinner in a traditional American gastronomic style with a burger and fries from Five Guys,

Day 6: KEY WEST
Today was truly a day dedicated to overcoming boundaries. At 6 a.m. I set out to what is the most famous youth resort in Florida: Key West, where I had the unique opportunity to embark on a boat tour, observing dolphins and underwater life, practicing for the first time in my life snorkeling.
